Indoor and Outdoor Installation completed today at RAF Croughton

Hot off of the press are images of an installation that we have completed today at RAF Croughton, North Hants.  The inside Courtside Benches, in dark blue, look great.

The outdoor benches use the Maxam 24 platform, the metal has been galvanised and the decks have been treated for outdoor use.  The Courtside Bench seat is the same colour as inside.

Hussey Seatway TP and Club Bench at Hampton Gardens Secondary School

Hussey Seatway were delighted to be involved with the development of a brand new secondary school which opened in September 2017 in Peterborough, UK.

Hampton Gardens Secondary School opened with 180 Year & students.  Hampton Gardens will eventually accommodate 1500 students in Years 7-13 and will grow a year group each year until it reaches capacity.

Sport will be a key feature of school life. Students will be offered opportunities to join teams which will compete against neighbouring schools across Peterborough in leagues and cups.  Hussey Seatway provided them with seating for their multi use sports hall.  The system in place is a Seatway TP structure and a Club Bench.

The school has some outstanding facilities including a 3G All-Weather sports pitch, Amphitheatre and an impressive Learning Resource Centre which features a full height glazed wall.  Accommodation includes light and airy classrooms, an open and bright dining hall, dance and drama studios, a large sixth form centre at the top of the building with views across the site and a range of well equipped science laboratories including a specialist 'show lab'.

We worked with ATIC Group who are experts in design and installation within the education sector.

Cambridge Corn Exchange - staggered seating replacement programme

Hussey Seatway is gradually replacing an old system at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.  Replacing the seats in batches the original seat was a Hussey Sentinel and they are being replaced by a new gallery fixed chair.

Doing the replacement programme in stages means that the venue's schedule is not interrupted.

The Cambridge Corn Exchange is the largest multi-purpose entertainment venue in the region. Run by Cambridge City Council, it presents up to 300 performances per year ranging from the hottest names from the rock and pop world as well as musicals, comedy, opera, ballet orchestral concerts and an annual Christmas show.  It can seat up to 2000 people, but has the ability to still feel intimate for smaller events.

Palace seating fit for a King (or Queen) - Hussey Seatway at Alexandra Palace

Hussey Seaway are delighted to be providing the seating for the £26.7 million East Wing restoration project of Alexandra Palace, in London.

With £18.8 million funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and £6.8 million from Haringey Council, the charitable trust is fundraising for the extra £1 million, to find out how you can help click here.

The Victorian Theatre was created in 1875.  In 1880 Alexandra Palace caught fire and the Great Hall, Banqueting Suite, former roller rink and the theatre dressing rooms were destroyed. Development and restoration work was undertaken and about 60 percent of the building re-opened in 1888.  However, the East Wing was left untouched, until now.

The new venue in the East Wing will be able to accommodate 1,300 people, but has also been cleverly designed to suit more intimate numbers too.  With specialised bespoke retractable side wing units in the stalls and fixed seating on the balcony, the Hussey Seatway installation allows a flexible use of the space.  The seating has been perfectly designed with timber arm rests, show wood panels and the exact seating colourway.

With the venue due to open in Autumn 2018, you can sponsor a Hussey Seatway seat.  For donating £450 you get a plaque with your name on the back plate of a seat in the historic theatre.

Hussey Seatway are so proud to be part of the huge team restoring this fantastic palace back to it's former glory along with Charcoal Blue Theatre Consultants and construction firm Wilmott Dixon.  Find out more about the restoration project here.

Instant success for Gallery 3 Chair

The recent introduction of our Gallery 3 chair is proving to be an instant success within the market place. Like its predecessor Gallery 2, the chair has been designed specifically for use with our theatre quality retractable platform systems. The new model features thicker, ergonomic foam on both the seat pan and backrest whilst still maintains its slim, elegant closed profile. The seat supports are now constructed from cast aluminium stanchions, improving both the aesthetics and structural strength of the chair. We have upgraded the gas strut mechanism which is now concealed within the housing of the fold down mechanism, making them less likely to sustain accidental damage. The chair has undergone rigorous safety testing and conforms to both UK and USA standard, Gallery 3 is also available for fixed and flat floor applications.

Recent projects secured with chair include a 300 seat performing arts centre for Holme Grange School, a 290 seat retractable system for the new Metropolitan Police training centre and a 320 seat theatre fit out for Twickenham community centre.
