KEY CONSIDERATIONS WHEN SPECIFYING RETRACTABLE SEATING

VIABLE DIMENSIONS

Please download the pdf showing  standard dimensions and key spatial requirements to consider when incorporating retractable seating into a building design. Whilst there are standard parameters involved, our retractable systems are manufactured to order and therefore the platform width, depth and row rise can be designed to improve sightlines and maximise seating capacity.

OPERATIONAL CONFIGURATIONS

Our retractable and bleacher seating systems are available in 4 different types:

Fixed Unit – A typical system that is bolted to the back wall and floor.

Recessed – A floor fixed unit that is stored within an alcove or underneath a balcony.

Mobile – A self-supporting unit that can be moved around for storage and deployment in different locations.

Travelling – A powered bank of seating that can be moved up and down a hall.

FLOOR LOADING IMPLICATIONS

When undertaking a project with retractable seating it is critical that floor finish in the space is looked at in conjunction with the seating. Retractable seating units operate at their best when installed on wooden floors, however there are still loading implications that need to be considered. Please download the pdf which shows a typical floor loading diagram and the relevant loads imposed by the seating structure along the hatched zones in both open and closed positions. Retractable seating can also run on certain vinyl floors and carpeted floors if plywood running boards are used. Please contact us for further information.
