Chris Black
Chris Black is the 2nd generation of the Black family to work at Hussey Seatway. During his university years where he studied sports and business management, Chris worked at Hussey Seatway during every holiday as part of the installation team. He has been involved with the business for years and has gained a great insight into the working of the whole company.
Straight from university graduation, Chris joined the service and after sales team and then progressed over the years into a sales role. Chris is now the Sales Director heading up the UK sales team for the company. He really enjoys the variety of the role and especially relishes the relationship building with clients. He enjoys seeing the project completely through from initial idea to completed seating system, transforming and providing multiple use spaces.
A notable project Chris has worked on was the RIBA award winning design for Wells Cathedral School, working closely to develop a very bespoke system. He has participated on a number of very high-profile projects including the University of Kent which had a very high specification job.
Chris is the face of the company at events like ABTT Theatre Show, ISBA Independent Schools & Bursars Associations exhibit, FSB International Trade Fair for Amenity, Sports & Pool Facilities and The Academies Show.
When he isn’t thinking about Hussey Seatway, he is an avid motorsports fan both participating and viewing. He is a keen runner and has completed a number of marathons.

David Black
Joint-founder and owner, David Black, is instrumental in the growth and development of Hussey Seatway. He is working to expand sales throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East and the USA.
David began his working life in the financial industry working in business development. He then embarked on his career path in the seating industry working in both the UK and relocating to the USA for a period of time. He gained extensive experience within the seating market and an unsurpassed knowledge of products and applications.
David co-founded Hussey Seatway in 2003, and through his management and direction has established the company as a leader in the seating industry. With over 40 years of experience in the seating industry, David brings a wealth of knowledge to clients and he has directed many high-profile projects for venues throughout the world. Through his leadership, Hussey Seatway continues to expand and lead with business excellence and vision.
Over the years, he has travelled to 55 countries for business. He is proud to have worked on projects and business partnerships in most of those countries.
David is an active member of Lotus on Track, driving circuits throughout the UK and Europe. He also enjoys mountain biking across the UK and Europe on his travels.

Jason Earl
Engineering Director, Jason Earl, leads the diverse and complex work of the engineering department. After graduating with an IMechE approved degree Jason began his working life designing special purpose machinery for the pharmaceutical and dairy industries. And with notable clients such as Procter and Gamble, Mobil and Dairy Crest his work took him to Europe, Africa and USA.
With over 20 years’ experience in the seating industry, Jason brings his wealth of knowledge to each and every project. Jason ensures that every project is delivered to the highest standard and specification.
Jason is instrumental in developing new and custom seating solutions. He leads the design team in the development of complex, custom-engineered systems and bespoke seating designs. His creative team are adept at tackling difficult, demanding projects and ensure every project is meticulously planned. He is also responsible for the team’s advancement in utilizing cutting-edge technologies, electronic control systems, 3D work, finite element analysis and the development of BIM designs.
Jason is also closely involved with the manufacturing process, ensuring Hussey Seatway meet product standards and safety compliance. Jason works closely with the Operations Manager and team to oversee the management of projects from initial design to completion.
He spends his spare time enjoying life with his family, exploring heritage sites and foreign cultures, and restoring classic cars.

Luke Windsor
Luke Windsor started working for Hussey Seatway part time after he left University as a service engineer and progressed on to installing projects. After this he began managing our Service and Maintenance department and then moved into the sales department. Luke is now Sales Manager for UK.
Outside of work he enjoys taking part in a number of sports and plays for local rugby and cricket teams.
Nigel Satterly
Nigel Satterly has worked in the seating industry for most of the past 25 years. This includes previously 10 years with Hussey Seatway. He has recently returned as our Export Sales & Project Manager.
Prior to his seating career, he has worked in the defence & aerospace industries as well as academia. He has extensive sales and project management experience.
After leaving school, Nigel completed an engineering apprenticeship and has continued his education throughout his career, attaining a BSc, MPil and an MSc in engineering disciplines. Having a great combination of practical skills and academic qualifications enables him to provide a high level of technical expertise and an innovative solution for all customers.
He places major importance on customer service. He is very much looking forward to bringing his wealth of experience to Hussey Seatway and our customers. Nigel will be focusing on improving support to overseas dealers and maintaining the company’s expansion around the globe.
Outside of work Nigel enjoys badminton, is a keen cyclist, fixer of anything and builds and flies all types of radio controlled aircraft.

Ryan Hoblyn
Ryan started at Hussey Seatway after spending 10 years working in the offshore survey industry. He is still in a technical based role using his knowledge on land rather than at sea. At least he no longer has to worry about sea sickness while at work.
Ryan is responsible for leading the service and after sales team. Ensuring all our customers past and current receive high standards of aftersales care.
When Ryan is not at Hussey Seatway he enjoying spending time with his 2 young children. He often gets involved with fundraising for the local SEN nursery and the Downs Syndrome Association. He enjoys riding his motor bike, CrossFit, watching rugby and getting stuck into a good series on Netflix.

Helen Blatcher
Helen previously worked for an upholstery company which manufactured the upholstered components for the retractable seating systems, so she has known many of the Hussey Seatway team since 2005.
When her previous company ceased trading in 2013, Helen moved to Hussey Seatway as a sales administrator. She moved into finance 2014 and since then in 2019 Helen’s role has moved into our aftersales and service department.
Outside of work Helen enjoy spending time with her husband and their son, plus cooking and gardening.

Jayne Drummond
Jayne Drummond worked for one of our competitors for 8 years. She then worked part time in the seating industry for a further 2 years. Jayne started working at Hussey Seatway when there were only 5 people employed full time, Sales and Service consisted of one person and Jayne provided admin support to them all.
Jayne now works mainly in the service department. She knows everything about the business and says things have changed a lot since she started!
She spends her non Hussey Seatway hours with friends, family and dogs.

Graham Williams
Graham has 30 years’ experience in manufacturing and operations in the oil & gas; military and aerospace sectors. Since joining Hussey Seatway in 2015, he has enjoyed introducing new systems to improve standards and control within the business. Graham is responsible for H & S and Quality. We have benefited from greater accreditation in the organisation since Graham has been responsible.
Graham relocated to the Bath area to be nearer family and friends. He instantly liked the people and the ethos of the Hussey Seatway team.
In his personal life he enjoys the Japanese martial art of Kendo, which his wife introduced him to. They both do Kendo competitively.

Liz Green
Liz Green is instrumental at developing and maintaining relationships with our suppliers. She is responsible for all the buying of materials for the company . Liz also completes all the logistics planning, which involves dealing with domestic and international freight, importing and exporting. She enjoys her role as it brings her fresh challenges every day.
After 20 years working for a hydraulic/automotive hose assembly manufacturer she worked her way up to production planning manager. Liz then came to Hussey Seatway bringing us her logistics, planning, organisation and negotiation skills.
When she isn’t making Hussey Seatway run smoothly she enjoys, F1, gardening, reading, socialising with friends and family and foreign holidays.

Tony Chapman
Tony Chapman was involved in design engineering after finishing college. Prior to working at Hussey Seatway he had 8 years seating experience at one of our competitors. Tony started Hussey Seatway as a project engineer gaining promotion to Senior Project Engineer in 2013. Therefore, he assists in the management of and scheduling of work in the engineering department.
Tony is a very keen cyclist, including building bikes and racing them at time trials all over the south of the UK. This is where he can usually be found most weekends between March and September.

Luke Harflett
Luke has ten years’ experience designing and detailing steelwork initially for the construction and architectural metalwork industry and then in the tidal energy industry before beginning at Hussey Seatway.
Within the company, in addition to designing projects, he has a particular interest in developing our 3D CAD capabilities, including creating automated design configurators for our product range as well as developing our BIM offering.
Luke has recently been promoted to Product Development Engineer focusing on research and development within the engineering side of the business.
Outside of work, he likes camping, hiking, woodwork and spending time with my family.

Steve Smith
Steve Smith previously worked for a competitor for 22 years. He spent those years as follows:
5 years engineering telescopic platforms and custom auditorium seating solutions.
2 years sales engineering, producing layout drawings and feasibility studies for both telescopic structures and chair layouts.
Then 15 years as an R&D Engineer working on refining and improving the telescopic system along with bringing new chair and bench products to market.
Steve is using his knowledge of the industry to help bring new ideas to Hussey Seatway. He also wants to broaden his own experiences in other elements of engineering.
Outside of the world of seating, he loves spending time travelling and exploring new places with his wife, spending quality time with his family, tinkering with old classic Italian cars and pretending he can still ride a mountain bike.

Jay Sherlock
Jay started his career in the Petrochemical Industry designing storage tanks and pressure vessels in the North West of England, and has also worked in the Construction Industry in London, designing metalwork for new build apartment blocks.
He joined Hussey Seatway to take on a new challenge and to build not just a career in the seating industry; but a new life in this beautiful part of the country.
His interests are motorcycles, exploring the countryside and eating…..a lot.

Steve Carroll
Steve Carroll has spent 29 years in the seating industry. When he joined Hussey Seatway, he started out in the manufacturing side, he was then installation factory manager and is now installation manager.

Mick Hale
Mick Hale left school to become an apprentice carpenter, he worked in hospital maintenance for 7 years and then became self-employed. Mick ran his own business for 10 years before coming to Hussey Seatway in the service department. He has seen most of the UK through Hussey Seatway, travelling around servicing units and he now travels the world installing units for us which he really enjoys.
Outside of Hussey Seatway he spends time with his wife and two daughters, he also enjoys regular golf and skittles.
