Project: Embassy Theatre

Creating bespoke retractable seating designs has played a major part in our ascent to becoming the UK’s leading seating supplier for performing arts venues. The recent work completed at Embassy Theatre, Skegness, is the perfect example of this.

From the outset, we worked closely with the client team to ensure the challenges they faced with their existing seat layouts were overcome. The primary goal was to reduce set-up time. With a busy events schedule, they needed a system that was quick, reliable and user-friendly. We were able to develop a faceted, retractable seating system with 45-degree angle side sections that operated as a single bank, also featuring semi-automatic chairs. We were the only company to put forward such a solution, with competitors advising it couldn’t be done. How we love a challenge!

The result was a resounding success, hours of set-up time saved with a continuous seating back that deploys to a consistent position every time. We spent time understanding every small detail which mattered to the community, and we know we have created something truly special for everyone to enjoy. A real testament to the client’s vision and our solution-led engineering ethos.

The refurbished theatre features our Gallery 3 chairs, upholstered in a stunning array of fabrics, which gives the venue a striking new look.

With the project now complete, the Embassy Theatre proudly kicks off its summer season with a spectacular opening performance by the incredible Mr. Barry White!
