PROJECT OVERVIEW

Chobham Academy required a flexible seating solution to enable their theatre to be used as multi-purpose space. With performances, rehearsals and lessons taking place in the hall a seating system that could be quickly closed away at the touch of a button was a key requirement.

SOLUTION

Hussey Seatway therefore manufactured and installed an electrically operated retractable seating system with 161 Sports benches. Benches are ideal for multipurpose theatre spaces, where capacity is variable but good levels of comfort are still necessary. Special features on the project included integral folding side rails to reduce the set up time, in addition a custom row rise on the platforms was designed to allow access to be gained from the seating unit to the side balconies.
