Edgbaston High School Octagon is a spacious, purpose-built theatre with a seating capacity for up to 600 people. This versatile venue is designed for a wide range of activities, including theatre, dance, music, assemblies, and examinations.

To ensure maximum flexibility, the theatre is equipped with electronically controlled multi-level staging and retractable seating for the audience.

Solution

Hussey Seatway provided Edgbaston High School with three banks of retractable seating, featuring the Hussey Seatway TP unit and Gallery 3 chairs. Each unit includes integral power for a soft start mechanism, consists of 10 rows plus row 0, and is finished with Eurocord carpet. The seating is upholstered in Xtreme Camira range fabric and includes seat numbers and aisle lettering.

In addition to the 600+ retractable chairs, Hussey Seatway supplied 150 HDS chairs to match the seating units, along with six storage trolleys for convenient storage and transport.
