Founded in 1967, Halifax Community College (HCC) stands as one of North Carolina’s longest-established two-year public institutions. Located in Weldon, HCC has built a legacy of accessible, high-quality education through associate degree programs and robust continuing education offerings.

True to its mission of inclusivity, HCC embraces an open-door admissions policy, welcoming all individuals aged 18 and older—whether high school graduates or not—who seek personal and professional growth through education. The college offers a range of Academic Pathways designed to support traditional students, adult learners, and even current high school students, ensuring that education is within reach for anyone ready to take the next step.

Solution

Halifax Community College represents a landmark achievement, it’s our tallest and most expansive seating installation in the United States. The system stands at an impressive 21 rows high and stretches 32m in width, accommodating a total of 1,011 seats. Great job from our local dealer Learning Environments!

The installation features our Gallery 3 chair, upholstered in Camira Era, combining durability with a sophisticated look.

Designed with both functionality and user experience in mind, the system includes dual vomitories which enabled us to increase capacity over the top of the access walkways at floor level. Graspability rails enhance safety and the acrylic infill panels provide the high end look the customer was seeking. A soft-start power system ensures a seamless operation, while the automatic side drapes neatly hide the systems understructure, requiring no end user intervention they ensure set up time is kept to a minimum.
